The 19th Annual Conference of The Australia & New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders was held on 19- 21 August 2021 and chaired by Olivia Carter and Shannon Calvert. This conference was accessible to delegates in-person in Perth, at a Satellite location in Brisbane and online (virtual attendance). 53 Oral papers and 15 Posters were presented following review of the Scientific Committee chaired by Dr Susan Byrne and Dr Anthea Fursland, and are published in this supplement. Over 415 delegates attended the conference.

Keynote talks were by Jennifer L. Gaudiani, MD, CEDS-S, FAED, Founder and Medical Director, Gaudiani Clinic and her presentation topic was, 'And On Towards the Sea: Commitment to Weight-Inclusive Care Improves our Patients Lives and Our Own' and by Dr. Beth Shelton, National Director, National Eating Disorder Collaboration (NEDC), her presentation topic was, 'If the System Could Talk: A Brief Autobiography of the Eating Disorders Field in Australia. Past, Present, and Future'.

The conference also included:

Four 3-hour workshops and Eight 90 minutes workshops took place on Thursday 19 August, which were held virtually and in-person in Perth.

The above two keynote talks took place on Friday 20 August in addition to two plenaries on Trauma-informed care; it's everyone's business (Presenters: Tania Towers, Fiona Sutherland & Timothy Brewerton) and Social Media: Friend? Foe? The Future? (Presenters: Tama Leaver, Jasmine Fardouly & Gemma Sharp). This day was also hybrid, i.e., was held virtually and in-person in Perth.

On Saturday 21 August all sessions took place virtually. The day started with a Q & A Masterclass with Dr. Jennifer Guadiani. Two research workshops also took place on Building non-academic collaborations: Advice for Early Career Researchers and Valuing the Voice of Lived Experience of Eating Disorders in the Research Process. Followed by 5 concurrent sessions of 53 oral presentations. All poster presentations, i.e., pdf of all poster presentations along with a few 3-minutes recorded presentations from poster presenters were also made available to view on this date. 

The conference concluded with the ANZAED Awards.
