Representative forearm DXA (A) and HR-pQCT (B, C) images are displayed on the left and right, respectively. In the DXA image, the radius and ulna are labeled accordingly, and brackets identify the approximate regions of the radius at which HR-pQCT scans were performed. HR-pQCT scans were performed at 3.5% (B) and 30% (C) regions of the radius (based on forearm length and relative to the distal end plate), for assessment of trabecular and cortical bone, respectively. Presented DXA and HR-pQCT images were from an otherwise healthy 23-year-old female that had a BMI of 23 kg/m².
