Admission criteria

Discharge criteria

Weight <75 % of median BMI (%mBMI)

Medical stabilization

Rapid weight loss, even if weight not <75 %

Admission criteria are no longer met

Acute food refusal

Adequate oral intake for weight regain

Heart rate <50 bpm

Cessation of vomiting

Orthostatic hypotension (increase in pulse of >20 bpm or drop in blood pressure of 10–20 mmHg/min from supine to standing)

Has completed 1 staff led practice meal and 1–3 family led/individual practice meals

Blood pressure <80/50

 

Hypokalemia

Hypophosphatemia

Hypomagnesemia

Dehydration

Cardiac arrhythmia

Hypothermia

Syncope

Symptomatic hypoglycemia

Lack of improvement/worsening symptoms despite outpatient treatment

Uncontrolled vomiting or hematemesis
